Walking the Nile

In an epic world first, explorer Levison Wood sets out to walk the length of the River Nile from source to sea.

On 3rd December 2013, Levison took the first steps of his 4,250 mile expedition, beginning a unique exploration of the continent in the most ambitious and intimate way possible: walking every step of the Nile from source to delta and in the process encountering modern Africa - its people and its wildlife - face to face and from ground level.

Beginning high up in the hills of the Nyungwe forest this nine-month, seven million step journey from Rwanda to Egypt pushed Levison to the edge of his mental and physical limits. Lev was passionate about sharing his adventure with the world, ensuring that even in the remotest sections of the expedition he would find the time to send tweets, photos and even short videos so that his loyal fans could follow his progress step-by-step.
